She Feeds Them Well

She Feeds Them Well
By The Scarlett House

Stitched on 40 ct Cedar Plank
One over one with a little 'tent stitch' throw in there.
I changed a lot of my floss colors, but I wrote the changes down so if you have a question about a color you can ask.

Can I tell you that I enjoyed every single stitch of this piece. It was so fun to stitch and see all the little birds come to life. One of the color changes I made was the shirt. I wear brown a lot (it's one of my favorite colors) so I made her shirt brown instead of the striped blue and white.  I also made my grass a bit greener. When I started this piece, I was missing Spring and all the green that comes with it.

Here ^^^ , you can see a bit of the 'tent stitch'. It is in the little plant with red circle flowers and a little brown bird sitting on top. It is stitched one thread crossed over one thread... and on 40 ct!  It was a little tedious at first but then it kind-of grow on me. I love the way it turned out.

Eye Candy Monday

We just returned home from High Country Bus Festival~~Camping with our Full Moon Bus Club friends. I didn't get an official bus count , but I heard there were 188+ VW buses there. It was wonderful. We lived on the river and in the water. This is a photo of my son swinging from a rope swing, which he has played on every year we've gone.(3 years at this location) My camera also played in the river this weekend. So I don't have many pictures of the camp out. I am a picture girl so the hubs was on the ball and has already ordered me a new one. :o)

As for the 'eye candy'...... I saw this adorable mini quilt on Flickr today. There is a group that make mini quilt blocks and swap them. This months theme was 60s retro. So stink'n cute.

Now off to do about 3 days worth of laundry and hopfully sew a bit. PEACE!!

some shade for the bus

When we are camping and the weather is so nice we leave the bus door open. But the sun likes to shine right in and heat her up. So we need shade.

BEFORE
Baby but Powerful magnets....
I slip a magnet in....
sew her up..... I did this about very eight inches.
And there you go.... Shade. The magnets just pop right on.

collections....

If you'd like to see some more collections hop over to Meet me at Mike's. Wonderful blog. Here are just 2 of my collections. My VW bus / beetle cars.
Traffic jam.....
And my camper collection...

I have other collections but won't show them now. I am having trouble or feeling troubled about some people coping and using my ideas. I just don't feel comfortable sharing the other collections. The coping is mostly on "Flickr". So I may not be posting as many pictures there.
On a happy note.... Have fun over @ Meet me at Mike's looking at all the other collections.

A LOT going on the week!!!!

A lot going on the this week. My babies started back to school. They are on their second day and doing great so far. Here is Shelby , before the sun came up she had to be on the bus.
My little guy , Jonah. Is doing great getting up early in the morning so far.
A sneak peak at my stitching for the Tea Towel Tour. I drew my own design this time so I am a little nervous about it. I will show the whole picture and explain the madness when I am finished stitching it.

I put a quilt on the barn I paper peiced. and added a cow. This is the project that I can't tell you what it is for. sorry.

A page in my 'Wreck this Journal'. Peace.

Another stitchery done for my 'Bareroots' camping quilt. :o) The Mountains.

I am working on a new table runner, this one is for our home. A Halloween one. I am going to start quilting it this week, I hope. hahaha. I just love this fabric. I love Halloween.

And a new 'munki munki' print for me. :o) Still trying to collect munki munki fabirc. It's hard to find.

So, here is the binding seletion. I didn't go with the multi color one, it was just too wild for me. I went to buy the same white dots on back , but ended up with a different one, which I think looks good. The binding is sewn to the front, but not stitched to the back yet. I'll be working on that this week. When it's done, I'll take a big 'ol photo of the whole thing.

Here is my 2nd block in the MissyMack BOM . Called 'Stingbark farm" . I can 't wait for the 3rd one to come out. MissyMack hasn't been feeling very good, I hope she is doing much better. Sending out a big ((((((HUG)))))) to her.

I finished 2 stitcherys in the "camping" quilt . The pattern is a "Bareroots" pattern. #99 Camping Quilt and Pattern. I actually stitched the duck while sitting by the campfire camping. The fabric still smells like campfire, one of my favorite smells.

I finished this one at our 'young people's sit and stitch' last night.

I am in a on-line swap quilting group called "sew connected 3". Here are my blocks from all my wonderful swaping group. There are 18 of us. I think ( pretty sure) I will be sashing it in black and backing it with black. It is going to be a picnic quilt for us to go to the park with. :o)

And Basil, my littlest baby thinking he can go down the stairs by himself. He chickened out and didn't do it. It is still a long way down for him. You can see my other chihuahua, Chili, in the back ground.

My new blog

Is all about our camping trips. Campin~Amy. We camp once or twice a month from the months of April thru November.

We camp in our VW bus, and our new teardrop trailer. Here are the kiddies on the way to a camp trip.

This is in MD on the Shore. This bus is our old one. Her name was 'Papa Smurf'.

'Everybus', not sure which year. Some buses lined up. There is usually 175 buses at this campout.
I will just be posting about our trips and our buses. This weekend we are off to PA, hope it doesn't rain too much. I'll be taking some embroidery work with me to stitch on the way up and back. :o) Can't wait to show you.... later.

our camping trip to Washington D.C.

Was absolutely fabulous. We had the best time. We got to see where the president lives. :o)

and see him take off in his helicopter.
My children in the blooming cherry blossom trees.
We camped in MD @ Greenbelt state park. It was beautiful and peaceful.
We went up and saw Lincoln in he chair. :0) And went to a few of the Smithsonians. They were awesome. I kept thinking.... I can't believe this is free.
And on another note.... here is the other wall in Jonah's room where he drew his prehistory sea monsters and I painted them in. He even spelled out "sea - monsters" and wanted me to paint that too. My sweet boy.

back from camping

It only rained part of the day Saturday. It wasn't too bad and we still had a great time camping. Here is a picture of the girls. ( the big girls ).

This a shop sample I just finished. I did not make the the stocking it self. Just embroidered it and added the cute white balls to it.
Here is a close up.....
And my new toy. I LOVE these things.....
Progress on my North Pole block. Lets see... I still have 2 marbles to applique , a little sign over the door and maybe the shutters. Haven't figured out if I am going to add the shutter's or not, I don't want it to look too busy.
