quilting

I finially got my strips N curves backed and basted. And now I am quilting it. Yeah. It will take forever. But I love how the quilt top turned out, so I am deteremined to finish one day.

I only got one square done today. It just wears me out. And my stitches still aren't good. Probably by the end of the quilt they will improve. LOL
Jonah says he wants a jelly fish on his "clown fish" quilt. So I got the one off of the internet. I think I may put him in the upper right corner .... This is still a WIP.
I am going to eat now and get ready for "Project Runway". LOVE that show!!!

back from camping

We were at "High Country Bus Festival" this weekend. We camped right on New River in NC. The VW buses went on and on for about a mile and 1/2 down the river. The weather was GREAT. Not too hot and not too cold.

Here is Jonah watching the water and drawing...
The teenagers that hang together at every campout. My daughter, Shelby is the one in the middle .
Hubby and I ...

Our bus in the blue one.

Tubing, lots of tubing going one. Shelby is on the left.

I did get to embroider while camping. I put my very comfortable camping chair right by the river bank and embroidered while watching the people float down the river. I am on my last row of my embroidered wall hanging. (will post pics later. )

I received my sheet fat quarters. They are wonderful. Elizabeth Hartman from www.ohfrannson.com organized the swap. I can't wait to make things with them. I will post pictures of the fabric opened up later.

what I've been up to

I have been working on my embroidery wall hanging. I have one and 1/2 rows to go. I just can't wait to hang it in my living room. It is turning out pretty cute. Last night I got to watch the new season of "Project Runway" while stitching.

I have also been working on my strips n curves. Two more outer boarders to add. I can't decide whether to machine quilt it or hand quilt it. I would love to hand quilt it, but all my free (sewing machine) time goes into embroidering.
This is my fat pug, Weasel thinking that my quilt top is her bed.
Our "young people sit and stitch" group. Stitching and laughing. This is Krystal and Pheobe acting silly. The sit and stitch group is at Quilting Adventures in Richmond Va. On the 3rd Tuesday of every month, 6-8pm. Come join us if your in the area!!!!

painting and creating

I made another set of "melly and me" fish under the sea. This set is more fishy looking then cute. They are for my son, so they had to be more boy looking. :o)
I got another lesson done in my on-line painting class. One day I want to paint on fabric.

feeling stitchy

I am on Feeling Stitchy's blog again. Yeah. This is the second time for me. The first was when I was in the Tea Towel Tour. So much fun. The pictures above are some of the stitching I did for the Tour. My Tea Towel is the last picture, I stitched the octopus.
This time I am on the blog for the Needlework swap from craftster. I made a crochet hook holder and embroider the back, I don't have a picture of it, but it is on Feeling stitchy's blog. http://www.feelingstitchy.com/

I got some sewing time in, yeah!!! I finially got around to making myself a purse/bag. A real one. The pattern is "New Girl" by Tammy Tadd Designs. Please be kind, this is my first real bag that I have made. I've have used it twice now and really like it.
Another view...on me.
I sewed up 7 more blocks for the dream catcher top too.
Thank you everyone for your comments from my last post. You are so sweet out there in blog land.

Happy 4th of July.

Happy 4th of July. We are going to a cookout today. But I am having sew withdrawal. I have not gotten to sew since Tuesday and it's driving me crazy, so before we go to the cookout, I am going to go sew 2 blocks of my "dream catcher" .
Here is a picture a blocks I have received in a "block swap". I have 3 more blocks to come in the mail. The bottom right one is the one I made.
My "hungry caterpillar" fabric. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet..It's either going to be something for my cousin , she is a kindergarten teacher. Or something for my son's teacher this year. He starts kindergarten this year. We've spent lots of time at the park this week, that's why there has been no sewing... here is Jonah acting like a silly boy.
And Jonah fishing .. He LOVES fishing.
Hopefully I will get to sew soon, (or they might have to lock me up. )
