The Big Reveal ~ Very Scary

My 'Very Scary' is finished and now you get to see what I replaced the teal rectangle with in the middle section...... a cute little eight legged spider.  All the stitching is finished,  I still need to add one bead and make it into a wall hanging.  My husband is going to make a hanger for me. :o)

Here is a close up of the top....

A close up of the middle.... you can see the spider better in this picture.

A close up of the bottom section..... I did end up frogging the right boarder and restitching it. (you can read about that here) Thank you to all who gave me advice about this.

Here is a picture of what it would look like it I had followed the pattern. Much brighter and can you see the teal rectangle? It has a little key charm hanging in it.  I do like this version too. It is so adorable, but I just love more muted colors so I changed a lot of mine. :o)  I also really like spiders as a Halloween theme, so I had to throw a spider in there somewhere.

Here is mine again so you can compare.

I loved stitching 'Very Scary'!  If you are new to 'Very Scary', it is a mystery sampler by Lizzie * Kate.   Happy stitching this week.

Hand Embroidered Spider Webs

My Halloween / Spider Web quilt is finished. I am so happy with it. And I really can't believe it is done.

After finishing the quilt top with orange stash, black and off white. I hand embroidered spider webs and little spiders on it. I like spiders. ( any bug really). But spiders say "Halloween".

My quilt top has been setting around waiting to be quilted since last September. I wanted it to be done by Halloween last year. Well, that didn't happen. With school and the itch to just stitch by hand I figured I better have some one quilt it for me or it would never get done.

I sent it off to Rebekah Richardson to have it quilted the easiest and cheapest way.

For the black fabric, I picked one with circles so it looked like bubbles coming out of a witches cauldron pot.

My label, not finished yet, but it is there.

I will be ready for Halloween 2012. :o) One more quilt from my UFO's done! I am so happy!

orange makes me happy

I finally stitched up another spider web this weekend and love them. If you look closely you can see the tiny spider I added on one of them. This is the quilt top I made from my "Stashbusters" group. I love this group, the people are so sweet and fun. I get to use up my stash with cool patterns. This is the 'Jacobs Ladder' block.

I am probably going to add two more webs, then add boarders and have it quilted. Hoping to have it done by Halloween!

more stitching

Here are some more tiny stitched up flowers from the 'flower quilt'. Pattern from Bareroots.

The start of something cute. I'll explain this later , but it is a few of my favorite things.

And I've only added 4 spider webs so far to my Halloween quilt, but I finally added a tiny spider.

I've lost my steam on this one. This is my last block on my "little stitchies" BOM. Maybe I'll get it finished in December. hahaha

Some spider webs stitched on my Halloween quilt top.

A button added to Mrs. Wilbur's Christmas gift.

Blogger's Quilt Fest and more

Amy over at Amy's Creative Side is hosting the 4th annual Blogger's Quilt Festival.

Here is my favorite quilt I've made so far. And of course it has hand embroidery work in it. It is a 'Bareroots' pattern, though I changed 3 of the embroidery patterns to more represent the way we camp. We VW bus camp! So I had my sweet talented husband draw up some buses for me and I substituted then in.

I believe this is my favorite quilt so far because of the colors (my favorite), the hand embroidery ( my favorite sewing to do), and the camping theme ( our favorite family time spent together).

In other news.... the progress on my Halloween quilt, the Jacob's Ladder one. Lots of orange and white 2 1/2 squares being sewn together.
October 'Little stitchies' is done. I love the pumpkins and the Fall colored leaves in this one.

The 'Hoopla' swap is on it's way. I've finished the stitching on mine, using cross-stitch. Here is a sneak peek. I am sure you can guess what she is. She still needs to be hooped up and the finishing touches up to her before 'send outs'. I'll be posting the finishing photo after my partner received it. I don't want to spoil the surprise for her.

Jacob's Ladder

What do these......

and these......
and these..... have in common?

They are going to be in the same quilt together.

This is a pattern from my 'Stash busters' class. I used up a lot of my oranges which is one of my favorite colors. It will end up being a Halloween quilt. And my goal is to have it done by next Halloween. I still have about 150 more cream squares to cut out and make 40 more of the black/cream half square triangles.

A LOT going on the week!!!!

A lot going on the this week. My babies started back to school. They are on their second day and doing great so far. Here is Shelby , before the sun came up she had to be on the bus.
My little guy , Jonah. Is doing great getting up early in the morning so far.
A sneak peak at my stitching for the Tea Towel Tour. I drew my own design this time so I am a little nervous about it. I will show the whole picture and explain the madness when I am finished stitching it.

I put a quilt on the barn I paper peiced. and added a cow. This is the project that I can't tell you what it is for. sorry.

A page in my 'Wreck this Journal'. Peace.

Another stitchery done for my 'Bareroots' camping quilt. :o) The Mountains.

I am working on a new table runner, this one is for our home. A Halloween one. I am going to start quilting it this week, I hope. hahaha. I just love this fabric. I love Halloween.

And a new 'munki munki' print for me. :o) Still trying to collect munki munki fabirc. It's hard to find.
