I think I am back

We are back from the beach. What a great time we had, but there in no place like home. :o) The house is a mess though , I have laundry to the ceiling and more bags to unpack. This is the worst part of taking a vacation... the cleaning up after wards.

I did get some quilting and stitching done on the trip. I finished hand quilting my "What's the color of Spring?" wall hanging. Now I need to bind it, put a sleeve on it, and add a label.

Here is my progress on my stitcher's angel project. I still need to add the french knots to the center of the flowers. It is taking me longer then I thought it would.

And here are some more of the pockets done for my advent calender. I am up to day 21. I will probably start picking out fabric for the calender soon, maybe even today. :o)

It's good to be home. Now for my crazy week ahead. My baby starts kindergarten in 2 days. Wish me luck.

I will be leaving for the beach tomorrow for a week. Yeah! So I won't be blogging next week. I got my swap angel the other day. And I am so excited to get started. We have to keep our swap angel partners a secret , but I can tell you she lives in Germany. I went to her blog and I can't read a thing, but the pictures are beautiful. She probably won't be able to read my blog either. The picture above is a snip of the fabric I am using in her 1st project. I will hopefully be working on it at the beach this week. And my advent calendar embroidery. I'll pictures when I get back.
Also, I finally got some Sublime Stitching patterns. I got the "Camp out!" one, "Craftopia" , and the "Chi-Chi Fever". I can't wait to start playing around with these. The shop I work for, Quilting Adventures is now carrying 20 different Sublime Stitching patterns .

Tea Towel Tour 4

Here is my stitching for the TTT4. This is my towel which will be sent out to 4 or 5 other people to stitch on. They each have a week to stitch , then in the end I get my towel back with all these cute stitches on it from all different people. I, of course stitch on their towels too. I will be posting the pictures as I stitch them up.

Advent Calendar

I have been in embroidery mode for the last week. No machine sewing. I just can't seem to want to machine sew right now. I do go through fazes like that.
I've been working on my advent calendar.
oops.. I skipped # 9. I'll post a pic of that one another day.
All the white... the sheep, the tops of the mittens and on the soldier are painted with white fabric pant. White crayon just doesn't show up enough.
More to come later..I am headed to bed to stitch some more. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel like getting back on the machine. I have a shop sample I need to be working on. :)

Yoda May

Yoda May is my beetle I got for Mother's Day this year. My hubby is going to fix her up for me. She is a '65. Jeremy, my husband pulled her frame off the floor pan tonight......
And he thinks she is going to be WAY MORE WORK THEN HE THOUGHT. But I still want him to try to save her. She is so cute .....and ....rusty.
Here is her little shell body. The work begins... for Jeremy.
I stitched up 4 of my advent calendar days today. I love how they are turning out.
And I tried a little machine quilting with the is easier with the gloves on.

lots of embroidery, yah

I finished embroidering my "What Color is Spring?" wall hanging. I started to hand quilt it, but now I remember that I don't like to hand quilt, so I think I am going to finish it up by machine quilting it.

Here are a few more detailed pics of the embroidery. The pattern is from "Bareroots".

Here is my new project from Bareroots... It's called "Christmas Time is Coming". It is an avent calendar so I am hoping to get it done by December. Hahaha or Hohoho.
I've copied a few of the days and started to color them in with crayon. This has been really fun. I've done 5 while watching the Olympics. After you color them in, you iron them to get the excess crayon off, (not directly with the iron, you need to put a cloth in between the iron and the crayon.) Then you embroider them, the really fun part. I'll be posting progress here. :o)

I am also still machine quilting my "strips n curves" quilt. I bought some machine quilting gloves the other day from " Quilting Adventures". ( I am hoping it will make the quilting a little easyer. I haven't tried them yet though, I've been waiting for this headache to go away. It's just more relaxing to embroider in bed right now.

I have been tagged by I have never been tagged before so this is new to me and I still don't know how to put the names of people on the line when I copy and paste. we go...

Here’s what you do:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

1. I HATE to cook. I don't know if this is a quirk. But if I was rich enough I wouldn't hire a maid , I'd hire a cook. :o)

2. I watch Days of our Lives almost 5 days a week.

3. Clutter drives me crazy insane.

4. I crave chocolate after every meal.

5. I am addicted to quilting / sewing blogs.

6. I am an awful speller.

Ok, now I need to tag 6 bloggers, how about just 5. Here they are....
