Big Footed Bunny ( pic heavy )

I,ve been working on a "shop sample" for work. He is "Big Footed Bunny" by Wee Wonderfuls. The cutest little bunny. This is so out of the box of me. I really have not done softies before. And you know me, I am more into fish and frogs, then bunnies. But this guy is so cute and he has been really fun to make.
So... time to pick eyes out. The kids and I has a lot of fun with this, so I had to take some pictures and show you. First is our purple eyed bunny. Which I really like.
2nd is black eyed bunny, ( he got into a fight).
3rd, is "pink eye" bunny. LOL

4th, is "apple of my eye" bunny.
5th is deranged bunny
We also had a "blue eyed" bunny, but the blog wouldn't let me put anymore pictures up. I think I am going to go with "deranged" bunny. LOL . Just kidding Joyce. I like purple eyed bunny.
There is a flickr group just for the " Big Footed Bunny". Check it out and see all kinds of finished cute bunnies. http://www.flickr.com/groups/weewonderfulsbigfootedbunnies/pool/

dad's quilt

Dad's quilt is finished ( I didn't even have it on my "wip" list). I got it back from the long arm quilter, Susan Caldwell, yesterday. I went and got the fabric for the binding and binded it last night. It is for Father's day. My dad loves blue. Their (mom and dad), house it mostly blue with a little yellow in it.

Here are some details of the quilting...it is shells.

Memorial Day

We remembered Eben. ( He wasn't in the military, but he was on our minds today). His birthday is coming soon and will be very hard for us.
Eben living life.Jonah and Mason, my nephew, played in the pool today. It was freezing, but they still got in and had a blast. Jonah actually swam for the first time. He is a fish.
My teenager, Shelby. Too old to go into the pool now. :o)

a day of sewing

Pinning "Strips 'n Curves". It takes alot of pins to get that curve to stay. It was fun to see how they turned out.

I have finished cutting and sewing the strips. I need to figure out how to lay them out and figure out a boarder. But enough for today. I am going to put it aside and work on something else. ( that is one of my dogs sleeping beside the quilt. )
I did take Jonah to the park today. And while he ran around, I stitched. :o) The time flew by. The weather was beautiful.

strips 'n curves

I am working on my strips 'n curves tonight. I really like how it's turning out. Here is a pic of my Strata.

Here are the few blocks I got done. I am loving the green and gray.

the girls

This is a picture of the girls in the family. We all went out for Mother's Day this year while the guys stayed home with the kids. What a nice break.

I now have another project to add to me list of things to sew. I am not complaining. Sewing is fun. I will be making an apron for work. I picked out the fabrics, ( I will post a pic later). I think I am going to work on my "Strips 'n Curves" a little bit before I start the apron though. While it is still fresh in my head.

block #4 and graduation

Here is block #4. ( in the quilt along). I worked on it yesterday. My back is still hurting, but I don't want to get behind. And I am having sewing withdrawls. I messed it up the first time, had to take the seam ripper to it, but got it done.

Here is what it looks like messed up. Can you tell the difference? I actually thought it would look good this way, but decieded to stay with what it is suppost to look like.
My baby boy graduated from pre-school last night. He is very stubborn so he wouldn't smile. :o) Now it's time to prepare me for him going to kingergarten.

My back is "out". No sewing.

Well... my back has been "out" since Monday. It's driving crazy because it hurts to sew. It hurts to do anything. This is Thursday and it still hurts. Jonah and I did play with sidewalk chalk yesterday. The 3D ones. I asked if I could draw him a shark underneath the green ground....he said, "mom, there are no sharks in beautful world". This killed my back to lean over and draw this picture for him, but I needed to make my little boy happy. Later, we did add fish and a smiling shark at the bottom.

I had to water my plant again, here is one of the baby birds....getting bigger
Here is mommy, daddy, and another bird waiting for me to finish.

Sunday the 18th

Jeremy just got back from the CTS, a VW bus show in NC. He says he had a great time, but I am just so happy to have him back. The picture is of Jeremy's bus(Rusty, the rust one), Scott's bus (the blue one), and Pat's bus ( the yellow one). They all drove together to the show.

Now....fabric. :o) I picked out fabric yesterday for my "strada". I am taking a class Friday at Quilting Adventures , it's called "Strips 'n Curves" . I had help from the girls at work. It was a lot of fabric to pick out. And I still think I am not done with the whole strada thing. I think I am still missing some colors in there. I did cut the fabric today into 1 1/2" strips. Oh what fun. Let me know what you think of my color range, it is really suppost to flow more, I think.
Here is the book for the class. Amazing quilts in it. I will let you know how mine goes.

I took down the hanging plant today to water it again. And the babies have grown. The mommy and daddy watched while I carefully took the picture and watered the plant. Then I left, they flew back over to the nest.

preschool teacher gifts

My son, Jonah drew this pictures of my and his teachers. I embroidered them and made them into pillows. They will be gifts for the end of the year. I got the idea from Erzi_B. Her blog is http://enjoyinglifesjourney.blogspot.com/. She is so talented. Jonah and I wrote his teachers a note to ask them their favorite color. Mrs. Hughes favorite color is red and Mrs. Berry's favorite color is green. Jonah says that these are prehistoric sea creatures. I can't wait to give the pillows to them.

2nd block

Here is block # 2 for the quilt along. http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/. The blocks are wonderfully easy and turn out beautiful.

Here is my first block for the "quilt along". It's from Crazy mom quilts. http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/
I started late, so I have 2 more block to do to catch up. But I am feeling a bit lazy today because of the weather. So, tomorrow I will do another. I love these colors. I am going to try to make all of the blocks a soft blue.

baby birds

The baby birds have hatched and it is freezing and windy out today. Poor little guys, I feel bad for them.

Here is mommy bird waiting for me to go away after I watered my plant.

it's she a beaut?

My wonderful husband bought my a car for Mother's Day today. He only had to pay $10 for her. I just LOVE her. Jeremy, my hubby is going to fix her up for me. She is a 1965. I now need to pick out a name for her and come up with money so Jeremy can fix her up pretty.

Poor baby has alot of rust..
love her tail lights....
love the inside dash...will love it more when she is cleaned up. :o)

sneak peak

This is a Father's day gift for my dad. He is never on the computer so I can post it and not worry. The top is done, I will be taking it to "the quilter" Monday to have little sea shells quilts all over it. The fabric is Anna Griffin for Windham Fabrics, The Alix Collection. And I got it at Quilting Adventures, of course.

barcelona skirt

I love this skirt, I made it from the "Amy Butler" pattern, (barcelona skirt). Pretty easy to make, I hate to put in zippers, so that was the only part I didn't like about it. But it's in. Sorry to the flash in the picture. I had to take it myself, I kept forgetting to ask one of my kids to take one. It is now my favorite skirt. I could wear it everyday, but I won't. I will make another one though. Some day....just need to finish up a bunch of other projects first.

in bloom

My roses are blooming , they are so beautiful. Here are pictures of them and of the little label I made to go above them. My husband, Jeremy , made the iron hanger to hang it on. Also I have baby bird eggs in my hanging plant. They are sweet. When I go to water my plant I try to be so careful not to mess the nest or eggs up. The mommy is still coming back, good thing. Last time I watered them, there was 6 eggs in the nest.
