All Kinds of Things to Share

              I finally went to the eye doctor after it took me 3 months to work up the nerve to call and make an appointment. I'm not kidding... I have a phone phobia. And guess what... I needed reading glasses.  I knew I did, that's why a made the call. So here are my cute new glasses. My husband says I look like a sexy secretary in them. hahaha. And my daughter says I look like a librarian.

I haven't done much stitching on 'Very Scary'.  My daughter said the moon wasn't scary enough so she drew me a new one. And of course I changed the color.

I've stitched a little on my August BOM.

I used 'So September's' pendant tutorial and made a bus pendant. I think my best friend and camping buddy will be getting this for Christmas. *wink

I started the new BOM at my local quilt shop, Quilting Adventures.  I fell in love with the Earth color way. ( They have 4 color ways available I think) I was going to go with a dark brown background, but yesterday I went in to the shop and spotted this cute batik. It is cream color and has daisy flowers all over it. LOVE.  So I went with it instead.

And last on the list to show.... I finally framed the wedding sampler I stitched up for our friend. The wedding is next weekend.... nothing like waiting until the last minute. LOL

A Saturday in September

A little progress on 'Very Scary'.  I've once again made some color changes.... teehee hee.

I've changed the house color. The pattern called for 'purple haze' (on the left), but I used 'river rocks' (on the right) instead.  I like the 'purple haze' color, for a purple it is very pretty.  It is just too bright for my 'Very Scary'.

I have gone to the dark side and joined the new BOM at my local quilt shop, Quilting Adventures.  I wasn't going to play this time, but I saw the Earth colorway being offered and I couldn't resist.  I haven't picked out my background fabric yet , but I am thinking of going with a very dark brown.

And I just need to show off  the cute minion my daughter and her best friend made.  They made up the pattern themselves following a picture of a minion on line. He even has a little cloak and a book with pages in it.

A minion is a little creature from the game 'League of Legends'. My daughter is a gamer. :o)

I've lost my steam on this one. This is my last block on my "little stitchies" BOM. Maybe I'll get it finished in December. hahaha

stitching some Kaffe

My September block is complete for my "little stitchies" BOM by Bareroots. I've been putting some boarders on the blocks as I go.

Using some Kaffe and friends. And a small inner boarder of a solid light blue Kona fabric. I'll add another outer boarder after I get them all stitched up.

I am not yet sure what I am going to use of the outer boarder.

And this is the progress of a bag I am making for my Nana for her birthday which is this weekend. I'll be making the "Charm Party Tote" by Quilts Illustrated. My husband, who is good with the computer , has been re sizing photos of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and printing them off for me on 'Ink Jet Printing' cotton sheets. He still has a few more to print. But I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'll be sure to take a photo of it when I am done and post it.

Chemistry, pillowcases and a tarantula

Today I made 2 Halloween pillowcases for the sweet neighbor boys. They are always so good to my son. Their parents do so much for him, I wanted to make the boys some pillowcases. Their favorite holiday is Halloween. And this line of fabric is the cutest.

I have started to paint some tanks / aquariums on my son's wall. He has been asking for a tarantula for Christmas. Along with a lizard, turtle, and other crazy creatures. So instead of buying and feeding these creatures, I am going to paint them on the wall so he feels like he has them.

I finished painting the tarantula today. And as soon as I can get some time from my chemistry homework I'll paint some more. There will be a lizard, turtle, shark, piranha, and a snake. :o)

Happy September. I am steadily working on my September Bareroots BOM. A picture of that to come later.

This is just a photo my son took of his toys. He has been playing " air station" or " air base" for the past few days. We are stuck in the house due to snow. Lots of snow.

I've been gotten all of my January Block of the Months done due to snow. :o) No where to go so I stay here and sew....... hey, that rhymed. LOL . Here is my January block for the "Under the Sea" BOM. ( the photos are dark because I couldn't take them outside)

Here is my January block from the "Snow Bound" BOM..... I am machine appliqueing it and hand embroidery of course. :o)

And last..... My first block from the " A Boy's Story" is done. It's not a block of the Month, but I am trying to get a block done each month. I love the airplane in the this block. My son is so in to airplanes right now, it's perfect.

I've been so cold.

I am so ready for Spring, I just can't keep warm this Winter. I made a scarf to wear to work. Our "signature color" at work is purple... Maybe this will help me stay a little warmer while at work.

I've been cuddled up under the covers stitching a bit....I finished the January BOM from the "little stitchies" Bareroots pattern.

But have only made a tiny progress on my cross stitch.

fabric and embroidery

A post about fabric , needle, and thread. I got these gorgeous fat quarters from the "Fat Quarter Frenzy" @ the shop, Quilt Adventures. I am just in love with them. Now I need to find something to do with them. A quilt maybe.

I made a 'Quilt in a Cup' for my best friend for Christmas. She and I ( and our families) camp together through the year in our VW buses.

and of course I had to add a peace sign, because we love peace signs.

Finished my December block . This is the 'bareroots' BOM.

Here is an embroidery project I've started. I am going to make it a quilt one day with all the little sexy girls. And call the quilt "Sexy on a quilt". The pattern came from 'Sew Lovely Embroidery'.

My tea towel made it back home from the "Tea Towel Tour 5". I had a VW / camping theme.

My Creative Space......

I've been working on embroidery. This is a diary of my life starting the first week in Nov, 2oo9. It's on a tea towel. I plan to keep going until the towel is filled. :o)

Made a little progress on my BOM. The Bareroots design, little stitchies. This is the Dec. block.

And I finished the binding on my "camp" quilt. Also a Bareroots pattern. So she is done. Yeah. I love how it turned out.

Christmas spirit

I know it's now even Thanksgiving yet, but I am in a Christmas mood. I've been watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I hung my " Welcome to the North Pole" quilt up.
I ordered our Christmas cards.... here is the picture that will be on it.

I've been making my own wrapping paper and wrapping gifts. We will exchange gifts at Thanksgiving with my husbands family. So I had to wrap some gifts really early. I think I will tie green bows on the packages.

And I started a new BOM. The December (Christmas) month. Phoebe, Jennifer , and I are doing the "Bareroots" BOM, " little stitchies". Look at those so cute reindeer.
