I did. I spent it with my in-laws who are wonderful people.
While on Thanksgiving break, I finished my last tea towel for the Tea Towel Tour 5. Jennifer, Cupcakeguru, had a Hallween theme. I got the pattern on flickr from Q is for Quilter.
I wanted to show you the casserole cover I made for my sister in law. We exchanged Christmas gifts over Thanksgiving because we won't be seeing each other for Christmas. So here is the top, closed, with the handles. I put a big D on the top for there last name.
The inside is a table runner with insul-bright in the inside. The insul-bright can protect the table from the heat and keep the cassrole warm while it's in the cover. ( sorry for the 'bed' shot, the table was covered with gifts and wrapping paper so I had to use the bed.)

Christmas spirit
I know it's now even Thanksgiving yet, but I am in a Christmas mood. I've been watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I hung my " Welcome to the North Pole" quilt up.
I ordered our Christmas cards.... here is the picture that will be on it.

Eat, sleep, sew.... Quilt Retreat
I am back from the Quilting retreat and what fun I had. I got so much sewing done. The food was wonderful, I slept great, and 2 1/2 days of sewing and quilting. I met the sweetest ladies, ( and few not so sweet, but I just stayed away from them). Here is a picture of my groups tables. We had the best view. Just gorgeous. Cheryl and Michelle from my quilting group went with me.
I'll show you some projects and progress I made on the trip. Some things I can't show because they are Christmas gifts. Here is a needle holder which will be a Christmas gift.

This is Cheryl showing off the scarf I made for my daughter, Her robotics team are called "Blue Cheese".
Me, sewing away. Having the best time.
I finished my 'Bareroots' "camping" quilt top. I LOVE how it turned out. Now I need to figure out how to quilt it. I may just stitch in the ditch....
Here is a closer picture of the embroidery, I changed 3 of the blocks. ( Sorry Barri) , she is the Bareroots lady ). We never see bears in the woods, so I changed that one to a bus. We never camp in a cabin, so I changed that one to a bus. We only camp in the VW bus. And we don't fish , so I changed that one to a lantern with bugs around it. We do use our lantern every night and have lots of bugs. :o)
I made some progress on my "Happy Camper" quilt too. I am using the 'happy camper' linen. And wonky star blocks.

I also made 2 casserole covers, this pattern is wonderful. It's by 'Among Brenda's Quilts'. And has the pattern for 2 different sizes in there. 8 X 8 and 9 X 13.

My creative space....
I finished another block for my sewconnected 3 group. I love her (Sara) fabrics she sent. I love any Heather Ross fabric. So fun to work with. I machine appliqued the little octopi on.
On my design wall..... in my creative space... I have the 'camping' quilt up. The 'bareroots' one.

Embroidery
I received my very sweet and cute embroidery from Aneela of 'comfortstitching'. I was her secret partner for the swap, so I didn't know she had me until I received my embroidery. This was the 'Hand stitched' embroidery swap on Flickr. I think it's just the cutest thing, I am going to hang in in my sewing room.
Here is my next tea towel embroidery finished. She has a 'day of the dead' and kitsch religious them going.
Only 3 more embroidered squares to go, I LOVE this quilt. It is going to be so cute. I picked out the fabric squares and got them cut out. They are 2 X 2. I didn't do any stitching this weekend because we were camping. :o)

My Creative Space....
I finished my daughter's robotics teacher's Christmas gift. I think it turned out so cute. Robot fabric came from Pocketful of Pinwheels.
Trying to pick out the fabric for my 'Camping' quilt. I only have 3 more embroideries to go until I can put the whole thing together.

Working on my next tea towel for the 'tea towel tour'. This isn't done yet, I still have to stitch the banner on the bottom. The pattern came from 'Urban Threads'.
