Sick baby this week.

My sweet baby boy has pneumonia and a double ear infection. So I have been stuck at home since Tuesday, ( Except for the outing to the doctor's office, the imaging center for x-rays, and the pharmacy for medication) But I have gotten some sewing done.

I finished another one of my "hoop up" embroidery's. This one is for Ryan, who's theme is owls. Can you tell? :o) The pattern is from a coloring page. I did change it a little. He looks a little ''Dr. Seuss' to me, but I love Dr. Seuss.
I stitched up a block for my sewconnected 3 group. Gretchen wants to make an Amish quilt. This block is called the 'Amish Diamond' so I thought is would be perfect.

And I finally finish my row for my row robin. The rows are turning out to be scrappy Autumn. So I did a scrappy star Autumn sky. The stars I made by using Thangles.
Have a great rest on the week. Going to go take care of my little guy now.

My creative space....

I finished another block for my sewconnected 3 group. I love her (Sara) fabrics she sent. I love any Heather Ross fabric. So fun to work with. I machine appliqued the little octopi on.
On my design wall..... in my creative space... I have the 'camping' quilt up. The 'bareroots' one.
Leaving for a quilting retreat tomorrow morning, so when I get back I hope to have all kinds of things to show off. :o)

up and running

With a lot of help from other bloggers and the manual, my husband and I finally got the grace frame and machine up and running.... Oh my goodness it's a lot of work to get the quilt on the frame, but once it's on, it is pretty fun quilting.

Here are some of my first stitches, don't look too close... I am still learning and practicing, but this is just a picnic quilt that is going to be lying on the ground one day anyway. I can't wait to unroll the quilt from the rod to see what the whole thing will look like.

Today

Today I worked on my black sashing a bit. This is my picnic quilt from my 'sewconnected 3' group. ( all the blocks were done by different people around the world.) I am hoping to get it done soon so Jonah and i can take it to the park and have picnics on it.

And in the mail today came my new Heather Ross fabric. I am drooling. I going got a 1/4 cut of each because that's all I can afford. But I still can feel it, and look at it and come up with all kinds of things to do with it.
My favorite is the princess and the pea one, then the snail one. One day I will add to the collection and get some unicorns and other color ways. :o)
