sewing and a wonderful husband.

I have been making the cute little pockets on the advent calendar. It's the "bareroots" pattern called, " Christmas time is coming". I am hoping all the green and red fabric isn't making it to busy looking.
I also made some PJ's for my son using this awesome snake fabric. I love when I find cool boy fabric because there doesn't seem to be a lot out there. And my son is ALL boy. I bought this cool fabric at "quilting adventures". :o)

I finished up the binding on my "what is the color of Spring" wall quilt. It still needs a label and sleeve. I am going to be putting it in the Richmond Guild quilt show in Oct.

And look what my husband surprised me with. He just rocks. He is the best man in the world. I came home one day after he was already home from work and he had gone out and bought me my very own lightbox. I had been wanting one, but could bring myself to pay that much for one. He knew I had been wanting one, because I kept borrowing "the shops" light box. When I got home, I walked into the bedroom and there it was on the bed!! I was so excited. It's not even my birthday, he just did it because he was thinking of me and loves me. :o)

Awwww... what a sweet thing your DH did for you !!!
Light boxes are soooo handy... specially if you need/want to trace something at night.

Yay for your hubby! I scored myself one of those right before TTT4 started -- used a 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby. Since I tend to do my crafting at night, I sure love being able to trace designs when I want to, rather than having to wait for sunshine and a somewhat clean window (sunshine happens way more often than a clean window LOL).

I'd wanted to make an advent calendar this year too, but am not sure if I will actually get around to getting it done. It would be my version of the "bareroots cuz Christmas is coming" pattern!

Very nice quilt, and the snake fabric is quite cool.

Yeah for hubby! How cool that you now have your very own light box. Love the pj fabric - how great for a boy! Your quilt looks aesome too and your advent calendar pockets.

I just bought the same lightbox! I have been struggling for years with my teeny slanted one, and just went crazy a couple of weeks ago and bought the big one! I am much happier!
And the Bareroots stitchery! Aaack! I have been wanting to do that one FOREVER! I'm a little nervous about having to find all the fabric, though. How much fabric did you have to get for the borders?
You did an AMAZING job!

What a lovely surprise for you. I'm borrowing a lightbox off a friend for 1 week so I'm madly tracing for my next project.

What a wonderful husband! Such a sweet thing to do.

Your advent calendar blocks are adorable. I love, love, LOVE what you are doing.

But I must say, that I don't even know if I could sew pj's with snakes like those on the fabric. Ewwwww. You're right. All boy. *grin*
