I will be starting my brother's quilt tomorrow.

Tomorrow evening I am taking the Quick Step Quilt class at the shop. It is the quilt that you quilt as you go and both side end up looking good and done at the same time. :o) Here is the fabric for the front.....

And here is the fabric for the back..... this is for my brother now. Really , this side will be for him and the other side ( above ) will be for his wife.
I'll show you progress on it in a few days. I haven't sewn anything lately because I have been sick in the bed. But I am feeling better today.

I love that it has two sides! The fabric you chose is beautiful; I really like the hula girls and the bras. That is funny!

I am also really curious about this quilt as you go method. Will you share pictures as you go so we can learn along with you? I am intrigued. I am also glad that you are feeling better!

I love the bikini print! I've heard of the quilt as you go method, but know nothing about how its done. Is it difficult?

What a fun quilt! I have always wanted to take that class, they offer it at my LQS as well, but the timing has never worked for me. I hope you keep us updated on your progress!

that's such a fun idea.
Question:
when your quilt sides both have dark and light stripes, how do you plan on doing the actual quilting? will you just do some sort of stitch in the ditch or will stippling in one color still look ok?
I'm new to putting quilts together (as opposed to just finishing the tops and then suddenly being overcome with the need to start a new project)
and I was wondering what's the best method when you want your back to be different than your front. (I'm so afraid of using a different bobbin thread in case the tension is off)
Any adivce?
