have you had a day like this?

My day started out great. My daughter and I got so much done today, running earns, two doctor appointments, getting a pass port photo taken and more. So I go drop her off at school after all the running around and I think I am going to get a bunch of sewing done. NO. Nothing went right after I got home. I did sew a bit of the boarder on, but had to rip out stitches several times because I sewed it on the wrong way. Then I would iron a seam and it would iron the wrong way even when I laid it the right way. My 2nd boarded isn't lining up , it's off about an inch. I could just scream. My sugar level starts dropping so I have to stop to eat and I didn't want to eat, I just wanted to sew. Before all this I tried to print off a new free BOM , it's the first block and I couldn't get the print to make it the correct size....

Corner not lining up....

So I quit...and went to get something to eat. Now I don't feel like getting back behind my sewing machine. I feel like lying in bed and watching a movie. Darn. Here is what I did get done on the Chicks.....
Have you ever had days like this? Something just didn't want me to sew today.

Yep, have had plenty of days like those ;-). That's when I give in to whatever the universe is trying to tell me and kick back with a book or movie!! My saying for days like that is: "Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow". LOL

Absolutely! And Glenda is right, quitting for the day or evening or whatever works for me. It seems like going back with a fresh start the next time usually does the trick. I get away from the project and the frustration. That's why I stopped doing the sky on the auction quilt when my machine got uppity. Then I went back the next day, slowed down, and got it done.

I just love your chicks quilt! It just wow'd me when I looked at it. I can see how the border needs to be "fussed" with, but you are making a wonderful quilt. I know it will go better when you get back to it.

Yep, I call those "Murphy Days" ... you know, Murphy's Law ... "If it can go wrong, it will".
Best thing you can do is put away your stitching and come back to it another time.
By the way ... your chicken quilt is looking just darling :o)!!!
Hugs,
Joy :o)

I adore that quilt and am bummed for you that it isn't lining up! Maybe after a fresh start it'll work itself out. Maybe??? I hope!

Hi,

hope today is a better day for you.

Bea´s BOM is cute, yes is is.

When you print it out, please notice that no " Side correction" is marked. Maybe that is the problem when you print.

Happy to see the stiched block from you.

Yours Anett

The quilt is turning out really cute. And of course, I've had days like that. Hopefully after a rest, you'll be able to jump right back in.

I have no e-mail from you, so I use this way! :-)))
If you want to stitch the "Once Upon A Time ..." bom - just load the pattern from my blog - see at the sidebar: "Link to the pattern" and stitch - that´s all - there is no group or forum to sign! Just have fun!!! The adress is www.capricornquilts.blogspot.com
Happy stitching

I do have days like this and they drive me crazy! The best thing to do is just set it aside and try something else. I hope today all of your sewing comes together beautifully!

You're in very good company. I admire your determination to keep at it for as long as you did! Me? I would have probably just gone to bed for a nap, a good book or that movie!

But, I'm loving these chicks. It WILL be wonderful when it's all done!

Good karma to you today!

Not that my day was like that...but I just couldn't handle going to work sick...so I stayed home and slept. No hubby, no kid..just the animals! I really REALLY needed it! Did go to the doctor but it's just a virus so nothing to help me with the coughing...I didn't even want to sew or read! The bed is what I needed most!

Hope you're feeling better soon...and your chickies are looking good even if the border doesn't want to cooperate completely!

Definetely had days like that. It usually is best to walk away and relax, then return later and it all comes together. The quilt is looking wonderful!
