starting on Christmas gifts.

I picked up this book about a month ago. It has the cutest projects in it. A lot of them I am going to be making into Christmas gifts. The book is by "Betty Oppenheimer" and published by Storey Publishing.

So , Here is the first one I am making. I will probably end up making 2 of these. I am not going to say who they will be for just in case they read my blog.... but I doubt they do. It is called the Lumberjack Tote.
The fabric I am using is the Home Dec weight, so It is really thick and strong. This fabric came from the shop..."Quilting Adventures". They are carrying more and more of the Home Dec weight fabric.
Here are the handles being sewn on. This is where I had to stop. My little boy has another fever and ear/throat ache. So off to the Dr. we go again.
ps. I got my pattern cut out of my pj pants. Now I just need to cut out the fabric for them. I think I need more time in the day.

sneak peak

2 things I am working on for "the shop", Quilting Adventures. First is a sneak peak at some Tonga Batkits that we will be getting in. I am making a sample quilt out of them. Aren't they beautiful eye candy?!

Next....is me apron. The pattern is from "Retro Aprons", by Cindy Taylor Oates. I got some white ric-rac to add to it and I will be embroidering sea life on the bottom @ some point. :o) How do you like them whales?? LOL
Well, I have do go do the most awful thing in the world tomorrow... shop for a swim suit. Yeak, I hate it, but I need one to go camping this weekend. Wish me luck on finding one.

Big Footed Bunny ( pic heavy )

I,ve been working on a "shop sample" for work. He is "Big Footed Bunny" by Wee Wonderfuls. The cutest little bunny. This is so out of the box of me. I really have not done softies before. And you know me, I am more into fish and frogs, then bunnies. But this guy is so cute and he has been really fun to make.
So... time to pick eyes out. The kids and I has a lot of fun with this, so I had to take some pictures and show you. First is our purple eyed bunny. Which I really like.
2nd is black eyed bunny, ( he got into a fight).
3rd, is "pink eye" bunny. LOL

4th, is "apple of my eye" bunny.
5th is deranged bunny
We also had a "blue eyed" bunny, but the blog wouldn't let me put anymore pictures up. I think I am going to go with "deranged" bunny. LOL . Just kidding Joyce. I like purple eyed bunny.
There is a flickr group just for the " Big Footed Bunny". Check it out and see all kinds of finished cute bunnies. http://www.flickr.com/groups/weewonderfulsbigfootedbunnies/pool/

block #4 and graduation

Here is block #4. ( in the quilt along). I worked on it yesterday. My back is still hurting, but I don't want to get behind. And I am having sewing withdrawls. I messed it up the first time, had to take the seam ripper to it, but got it done.

Here is what it looks like messed up. Can you tell the difference? I actually thought it would look good this way, but decieded to stay with what it is suppost to look like.
My baby boy graduated from pre-school last night. He is very stubborn so he wouldn't smile. :o) Now it's time to prepare me for him going to kingergarten.

I started late, so I have 2 more block to do to catch up. But I am feeling a bit lazy today because of the weather. So, tomorrow I will do another. I love these colors. I am going to try to make all of the blocks a soft blue.

sneak peak

This is a Father's day gift for my dad. He is never on the computer so I can post it and not worry. The top is done, I will be taking it to "the quilter" Monday to have little sea shells quilts all over it. The fabric is Anna Griffin for Windham Fabrics, The Alix Collection. And I got it at Quilting Adventures, of course.

Here is my fabric ( bought from Quilting Adventures). and my first block, which is my block. I will be sending out the fabric Saturday or Monday to the other ladies. I'll keep you posted on my progrerss. by the way, my block was paper pieced. I forgot how much I like to paper piece. Except for taking the paper off the back. Yuck.
