Merry Christmas Eve!
Hope everyone is having a great one. I started a new cross stitch pattern. I'll show more later and show the pattern later. I did get it off of Etsy.
I finished another chickadee , this one is for my Aunt Brenda for Christmas.
And my sweet friend from Germany, Anett ( she was my stitcher's angle in 2008) sent me a wonderful pattern in the mail for Christmas. Isn't she and this the sweetest thing?!

2 finished

I finished quilting the picnic quilt. And put the binding on. I love how it turned out....
Here is a sideways view of it hanging from our fence. Thank you to all my sew connected 3 group for making the blocks for me. I can't wait to use it to go on picnics with my family.

Today... I finished my mini "Be Creative" quilt. ( wall hanging ). People have asked where to get the pattern. It is a Lizzie B Crea8ive pattern. They have a lot of really cute patterns... your going to go crazy over them. I think I will probably end up hanging this one over my fireplace in our living room. My husband and I are both artsy creative people.

up and running
With a lot of help from other bloggers and the manual, my husband and I finally got the grace frame and machine up and running.... Oh my goodness it's a lot of work to get the quilt on the frame, but once it's on, it is pretty fun quilting.

Here are some of my first stitches, don't look too close... I am still learning and practicing, but this is just a picnic quilt that is going to be lying on the ground one day anyway. I can't wait to unroll the quilt from the rod to see what the whole thing will look like.

lots of embroidery, yah
I finished embroidering my "What Color is Spring?" wall hanging. I started to hand quilt it, but now I remember that I don't like to hand quilt, so I think I am going to finish it up by machine quilting it.
Here are a few more detailed pics of the embroidery. The pattern is from "Bareroots". www.bareroots.com.
Here is my new project from Bareroots... It's called "Christmas Time is Coming". It is an avent calendar so I am hoping to get it done by December. Hahaha or Hohoho.
I've copied a few of the days and started to color them in with crayon. This has been really fun. I've done 5 while watching the Olympics. After you color them in, you iron them to get the excess crayon off, (not directly with the iron, you need to put a cloth in between the iron and the crayon.) Then you embroider them, the really fun part. I'll be posting progress here. :o)I am also still machine quilting my "strips n curves" quilt. I bought some machine quilting gloves the other day from " Quilting Adventures". (www.quiltingadventures.com). I am hoping it will make the quilting a little easyer. I haven't tried them yet though, I've been waiting for this headache to go away. It's just more relaxing to embroider in bed right now.
