They won.

I am not back yet. But I had to brag about my girl. She is on the robotics team at school. They competed this weekend at Regional and WON! Her robotics team has about 40 kids on it and my daughter is one of the drivers. One of 2. :o) So she is part 'pit crew'. She is also the first girl driver they have ever had. And they WON!!! Can you tell I 'm proud?!

I love this picture, it is of her , her 2 metals around her neck and leaning on the robot. I will probaby have this one framed. The team, Blue Cheese, 1086 is going to the World competition in April. I am so proud of her I have been crying for 3 days.

February blocks and a break.

Here are my February blocks...not all done. :o) I was not able to get my "A Boy's Story" block done. But I did manage to get one of the stitcherys and the applique boat done.

Another "hoop up" embroidery done for the swap. The theme here is ' into the forest'. I got this pattern from a color page, but didn't put all the details in it.

And I am working on my 2nd block for my "A Boy's Story" quilt. It's a boat and my little guy loves sharks, so I just had to add a shark swimming around the boat. :o) Call me crazy.

a birthday.

So my little guy turned 7 the other day. I hung tanks , airplanes and army men from the ceiling. He is really into GI Joe and the military things right now. But still loves to get the whole Indiana Jones gear on and play in the woods looking for fossils.

He got lots of military toys for his birthday. This is one of his favorites... a helicopter he can fly by remote.

Blowing out the candles....

We drove up to Ikea and got the birthday boy a new bed, too. My first and last time at Ikea. It was so crowded , my husband and I both do not do crowds. It was like a Wal-mart on crack. And my friends know I don't go to Wal-mart because of ALL the people. We managed to get the bed and I a migraine ( really).

Here is my sweet boy after a wonderful birthday, sleeping in his new bed. He loves it and that is all the matters.

I was able to finish another stitchery in the " A Boy's Story" quilt.

A little stitching of Jonah's drawing.... a squid and a shark.

And I finished another 'Hoop Up' embroidery. Her theme is vintage animals or children.

January blocks...

This is just a photo my son took of his toys. He has been playing " air station" or " air base" for the past few days. We are stuck in the house due to snow. Lots of snow.

I've been gotten all of my January Block of the Months done due to snow. :o) No where to go so I stay here and sew....... hey, that rhymed. LOL . Here is my January block for the "Under the Sea" BOM. ( the photos are dark because I couldn't take them outside)

Here is my January block from the "Snow Bound" BOM..... I am machine appliqueing it and hand embroidery of course. :o)

My Bareroots " Little Stitchies" BOM for January. The snow and snow flakes are hard to see in this picture.

And last..... My first block from the " A Boy's Story" is done. It's not a block of the Month, but I am trying to get a block done each month. I love the airplane in the this block. My son is so in to airplanes right now, it's perfect.
