no eyes

All the noses and feet on, some noses still need to be stitched down. But no eyes yet. I started putting the blocks together, just wanted to show you.
I am not sure what I am going to do for the eyes just. Buttons?? french knots?? or paint??. That is still up in the air.

chicken feet

All my chickens have feet now. I embroidered them on our way home from NC, (7 hour trip). Only a few more beaks to add, then I'll be putting the middle of the quilt together.

beginning, middle , and end.

I am in the middle of working on my 'Chubby Chicks' quilt. I put a few beaks on today and went and picked out floss for there little legs to embroider. I love how they are turning out.

Here is the beginning of a new quilt. I won't start it until probably January. I asked my mom this weekend what she likes in colors and quilts. She said every color. And dots and strips. So I am going to start my mom a quilt soon. I got these fabrics today at the shop.

And this is the end of a quilt, a finished one. Yeah. This is my mother-in-laws' Christmas gift. I table topper for her new table in her dining room. I love the Amy Butler fabrics.

Checkbook Clutch Class

Monica at Quilting Adventures taught the Amy Butler checkbook clutch class tonight. I had so much fun. I loved making this clutch. But it isn't done yet. Here is a photo of Amy Butler's, it is from the book " In Stitches".

Here we are sewing, me , Angie and Jennifer.
This is the inside of the bag. I am testing my chap stick and lip stick holders.
Back of outside of clutch....
Other side... isn't the fabric cute. It has pin cushions, sewing machines, thimbles, thread, etc all over it. It's back Alexander Henry I believe.
Here I am, Monica took this pic. I was laughing.

And I thought my pug was fat...

So my husband and I are in Toys R Us the other day looking for Christmas gifts.... my husband starts looking at this cute 'Dog' book. He comes across this page and we both about dropped to the floor laughing. We really thought that we had the fastest pug on Earth... This is one fat pug and it even says that by it's fat head. LOL

Here is a picture of our pug, Weasel. Who is looking skinny now. :o)
On to Sewing... I finished my PJ pants. But they still need some tweaking ( is that a word?)
I have only worked on my 'North Pole' quilt a bit. With Christmas coming I am still mostly working on projects for other people that I can't post on my blog. This is the picture of 'Becky Goldsmith' and ' Linda Jenkins' block. It is the Reindeer Barn.
Here is my work in progress Reindeer Barn...
This one is a bag I am making for the kids bus driver, Ms. Matthews. I need to get to work on this one. I want the kids to give it to her on Friday. I am going to fill it with dips and pretzels. The fabric is the new Amy Butler line. Love, love it.
PS. I am still try to figure out what I want to do with my kitchen curtains. I like the idea of a bit of color. So I'll take more pics later of fabric and post more. Thanks for all the help, it's nice to have other opinions. All my husband will say it ' What ever you want babe'.

Once I narrow this group down I may have a few more to add.
My daughter went back to school today, on crutches. Someone will be carrying her back pack for her all day. I am a little worried about her, but I think she is coming along good.
I go to my SWAP (sewing with a plan) class tomorrow night , I will be working on a wrap skirt next. I really can't wait to get started. I love skirts.
No sewing yet this week, but I hope to sew just a little today. I have gifts I still need to make. December is move too fast.

not sewing related at all.

My daughter is still recovering and I am doing no sewing. So I thought I would show you our ( mostly my husbands ) VW collection.
Here is Charlie, our '62 ( i think) double cab.... she used to be a flower delivery truck.
Here is Rusty , our 58 VW Deluxe..... The side of Rusty use to be crushed in ,but my husband has fixed her and drives her all the time. I've only driven her once and that was because I had to.
This one is my husband's newest VW. It is a Thing. We haven't named her yet..... she might end up to be mine. I like her a lot.
Here is Jaws, we camp in her. She is a '70 camper with a sports mobile top. I love her. My husband completely restored her.
This beetle is mine, her name is Yoda May. She is a '65. My hubby is working on her now.
And here is my husbands beetle, she is an 'oval' , 1956. We don't have a name for her either.
So there they are, our 6 VW's. My husbands passion and collections.

MIA

Sorry I have been MIA. It's been crazy around here and no sewing has gotten done. I did paint my kitchen though.

Shell Bell ( that's what I call her) had her knee surgery today.

Here is a picture of my BEFORE kitchen. It use to be orange , but yesterday I painted it gray. I'll have to post pics later of the AFTER.

This is Shell after IV and nice meds to make her happy....
Sleepy and getting ready to go into OR......
After surgery and ready to go home. She is in pain and tired in this pic.
She is now on the couch with pain meds and resting comfortably.
