Lots of sewing today.

Today I got 2 more blocks done on the "Dream Catcher".

It's this the cutest fabric?! There is a whole line of cute little creatures. Turtles, snails, monkeys, bugs, and frogs. I just had to pick some up and make something out of it .......so.....
I made my son, Jonah a pillowcase......
I finially got around to making another block in the "quilt along". This is #5. I am so far behind. Oh well.
Here are all 5 block together.
I did other sewing too that I didn't take pictures of. Busy, busy day. Love it.

one fish, two fish

I finished some fish for work. They are from Melly & me pattern. I am making another set for Jonah. They will be a little more fishy in color.
And I finially got to work on my "clown fish" quilt this week. Still a work in progress. But I am loving it. Jonah wants it hung in his room when I am done.

today

My 2 beautiful children.

I worked on my lession for my "color theory" class. I had trouble with purple. I just seems too dark to me.

And coming along....slowly.... the Dream Catcher quilt top. I am trying to get 2 blocks a day done, but I've missed a few days. This thing is huge. Aren't the fabrics beautiful?!

fat quarter vintage sheet swap

I am "playing along" with a bunch of people in a vintage sheet swap ( fat quarters). http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/ , Oh fransson is managing the swap and you should go to her site and check out all the fat quarters she has received so far. They are eye candy.

Here is one more sheet I haven't cut up yet. I am hoping to have them all cut, folded, packed up and mailed up Wednesday.

WIPs and baby birds

Here are some WIPs I am working on.... this is the "Dream Catcher" quilt top for the shop ( Quilting Adventures ). I have a LONG way to go. :o)
This the the fabric I am using to make a cute purse. I did get the one fabric quilted and cut out.
"Under the Sea" by Melly & Me... Fish. The colorful ones are for the shop. The more fishy version is for my son. ( who is fish crazy).
I am in an on-line class with Judy Coates Perez. The class is called " color theory". http://www.judyperez.blogspot.com/. This is one of the assignments.
I had to include a picture of the new baby birds. They are so ugly, that is makes them cute.
Now, update on my back. I am still in pain, but the meds are helping. Thank you every one for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

oh my aching back...

No pictures today. I spent the day in the ER with my back. I have wonderful drugs now and have to go to a specialist. I am still in pain, but the meds are helping to dull it. I am going to crawl back in bed and watch a Netflix movie. :o)

Cute story... My son and I were in the car the other day and the sun was going down. The sky was beautiful. Pinks and purples shining on the clouds. My son, Jonah asked," mommy what it that?". I asked " what is what?" He pointed to the beautiful sky and asked " Is that God's world?". I giggled, how cute it that.

apron

I know I say never apologize for your art, but I need to apologize for the pictures I am about to show. I am sorry my apron is so wrinkled, haven't ironed it yet because I am still working on the embroidery. I am so sorry that my little dogs wee wee is hanging out. And the room I am standing in is my 13 year old daughters, so it is a COMPLETE mess. Sorry about that too. I needed her to take the picture so I had to go into that black hole.

I did finish the sewing of my apron, that is why I am posting a picture. Another sewing project done. ( well, almost.)
You can tell I haven't started embroidering one side of the apron. I still have a lot to do. fun fun.

backs out again

I woke up this morning and couldn't stand up. Don't know what I keep doing to me back. But it hurt sooo bad. I stayed on the couch ALL day and embroidered my little heart out. I embroidered a shark on my apron.

And sea weed. I am going to add a lot more sea weed , I like how it looks.

Big Footed Bunny

Today I finished "Big footed bunny". I've been calling him bunny foo foo. His ears are a little too floppy, but he is a cutie.

Still cutting triangles for the "Dream Catcher". More to come later.

Natural Bus 2008

We went camping!! Jaws, our bus, did not make it. We started out in her, but she just didn't have enough power, so we turned around got the RAV 4 and the tent. This is our first time at a "bus campout" that we didn't have our bus. Here is a picture of our tent. With the buses around it. Jonah getting ready to go jump in the lake. We STAYED in the lake the whole weekend because it was SO HOT.

Here I am with my good friend Dawnn, I got so sun burned. I will be hurting for days.
Men doing the dishes. :o) My hubby is the one on the left standing.
We are home now, we had a blast. Thank God for A/C.

garden sticks

Jonah and I went out today in the woods and found sticks. We brought them home and painted them for mommy's garden. Here is where we got the idea from , Sweet Things : http://sweetthingdesigns.typepad.com/craftymama/2008/05/painted-garden-sticks.html?cid=117340738#comments (sorry I don't know how to shorten the link and make it all cute.) I'll take a picture of our sticks after they dry and are in the garden.
I bought a 1/2 yard of the Japenese fabric we got in at work. I LOVE this...it's little red riding hood. I love the little mushrooms and squirrel. Don't have a clue what I am going to make out of it , but I had to have it. I may save it for when I have grandchildren.
Sorry, I am so HO HUM tonight. We may not go camping and the whole family is bummed about it. The bus is running like crap. Yes, crap.

sneak peak

2 things I am working on for "the shop", Quilting Adventures. First is a sneak peak at some Tonga Batkits that we will be getting in. I am making a sample quilt out of them. Aren't they beautiful eye candy?!

Next....is me apron. The pattern is from "Retro Aprons", by Cindy Taylor Oates. I got some white ric-rac to add to it and I will be embroidering sea life on the bottom @ some point. :o) How do you like them whales?? LOL
Well, I have do go do the most awful thing in the world tomorrow... shop for a swim suit. Yeak, I hate it, but I need one to go camping this weekend. Wish me luck on finding one.

What color is Spring?

I worked on "Big Footed Bunny". He isn't finished even though he looks like it. I need to add his tail and his suspenders. He was very easy to make.

I worked on my wall hanging, "What color is Spring?" I added the purple boarder. This pattern is a "Bareroots" pattern. http://www.bareroots.com/ I got it from a quilt show 2 or 3 years ago and have been SLOWLY working on it since. The purple row or boarder is the last one though so I am close to being done.
And guess what..... the baby bird flew away and the mom lay ed 4 more eggs.
I also sewed all the blocks together on my strips n curves quilt. I am going to add a boarder, but I am trying to decide if I want to hand quilt it or machine quilt it.

28 White Balloons

Friday was Eben's birthday. We went to NC for the weekend to spend it with family. It was ruff , but good. We took 28 white balloons, the family wrote messages on them and we released them at Eben's grave. Eben would have been 28.

This is Jonah's shadow standing over his Uncle Eben's grave.
